Brandt Agricultural Products Ltd., a division of Brandt Industries Ltd., unveiled three new pieces of grain handling equipment at the 2008 Farm Progress show and announced a new size auger for 2009.
Dave Norheim, U.S. Sales Manager for Brandt Agricultural Products, says the new equipment options were developed to offer grain growers the capacity and flexibility they need to maintain an efficient and profitable operation.
“This launch represents diverse grain handling options to reflect the diversity of operations out there,” says Norheim. “Our aim is to bring growers and other grain handlers the speed, convenience and flexibility they’re trying to achieve, while maintaining the maximum level of safety.”
This line expansion fortifies the position of Brandt Agricultural Products as provider of the most complete line of grain handling equipment on the market. Three of the four new products are immediately available, including the Brandt Electric Hopper Mover, the Brandt 1340 Transport Auger and the Brandt 13” HP Open Top Auger. Brandt also announced that a 13X110HP Swing Auger would be available for 2009.
Brandt Electric Hopper Mover
For grain handling situations where hydraulic capacity may be in short supply, or for producers who prefer the convenience of battery-powered operation and remote control, the new Brandt Electric Hopper Mover is a logical choice.
Its worm gear drive/high torque motor prevents the hopper from moving as a result of vibration, unlike competing models that use a planetary gear system.
The unit features a rotationally molded console that mounts on the swing tube of the auger and a Remote Control Handling Transmitter with an operating range of 300 feet. The remote is security coded, eliminating the risk of accidental operation and utilizes an FM frequency for the best response time in the market.
Brandt 1340 Transport Auger
The new Brandt 1340 Transport Auger is a high-capacity unit ranging from 8,500 to 9,000 bushels per hour. The 1340 features tough, long-life, Super-EdgeTM flighting and an undercarriage design featuring one-piece square tubing and intake weights of between 110 and120 pounds.
Other build features include heavy-duty, heat-treated sprockets mounted on the discharge end with #80 chain in a grease bath to increase durability and performance. Solid drive shafts ensure reliable service over extended high-capacity use periods.
The 1340 is available in either a tube-mount Electric Drive model or a Direct Drive PTO drive model.
Brandt 13” HP Open Top Auger
The new Brandt 13” HP Open Top Auger is custom made for producers who want the convenience of the Brandt GrainDeck drive over, but need higher reach and capacity. This unit was specifically designed to be used with the Brandt Double Tube GrainDeck and is rated at 160% of the capacity of a standard 13” swing away auger. The traditional swing away auger is replaced with an open top collapsible hopper at the intake end of the main auger.
Brandt 13X110 HP Swing Auger (New for 2009)
The design of the new 13X110 HP Swing Auger delivers 160% of the capacity of a standard 13 inch swing away auger. No matter the auger angle, the hopper stays low.
The 13X110 HP features a heavy-duty scissor lift for maximum reach and low transport height. The unit also features Super-EdgeTM flighting, extended-life PTO components on either 1 3/8 or 1 3/4 inch, 1000 PTO shaft. A high capacity transition provides excellent grain flow.
In addition, the 13X110 HP is easy to clean and maintain with a single access door for complete clean out and a removable spout cover for easy access to the transition area. The transition also has two large access doors and the unique, totally-sealed transition spout keeps grain in and moisture out.
