Deere Reports 4th Quarter Earnings

Logo John Deere Deere & Company today announced worldwide net income of $345.0 million, or $0.81 per share, for the fourth quarter ended October 31, compared with $422.1 million, or $0.94 per share, for the same period last year. For the full year, net income was a record $2.053 billion, or $4.70 per share, compared with $1.822 billion, or $4.00 per share, last year.

John Deere Enhances Remanufacturing Focus Through Full Ownership of ReGen

Logo John Deere Deere & Company said it has acquired full ownership of ReGen Technologies, Inc, a remanufacturing company located in Springfield, Missouri. Deere had already owned 50 percent of the business. John Deere said the operations will be more fully integrated with remanufacturing operations in Edmonton, AB, Canada and the overall name of the business will be John Deere Reman -- an organization focused on growing Deere’s remanufacturing business globally.

New Holland Celebrates 700,000th Square Baler Milestone

AGCO Corp. Reports 3rd Quarter Earnings

logo_Agco.gif AGCO Corporation (NYSE:AG), a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, reported record third quarter net sales of $2.1 billion and record net income of $1.04 per share for the third quarter of 2008. Adjusted net income, which excludes restructuring and other infrequent expenses (income), was also $1.04 per share for the third quarter of 2008. These results compare to reported net income of $0.80 per share and adjusted net income of $0.77 per share for the third quarter of 2007.

John Deere Expands Plans to Increase Production of Large Tractors

Logo John Deere Deere & Company said it plans to further expand manufacturing capacity of its large, high-horsepower tractors – adding to a project announced earlier this year for facilities in Waterloo, Iowa. Deere said the investment will help the company meet its expectations for market demand worldwide in coming years. Deere said the new initiative will invest approximately $97 million in areas that are core to the business and offer a competitive advantage, such as the Waterloo foundry, engine, and drive train operations.

Great Plains Expands Equipment Line

Its drill and planter lines will include new equipment next spring. In each case, buyers can custom-build a machine to suit their tastes. Tillage tools Great Plains recently announced the addition of the Turbo-Till series II, Turbo-Chopper and Turbo-Chisel. All will be available this fall.
